About Anuttama: Anuttama is an artisanal chocolate brand started by Bala and his wife Swathi in Mangalore. What began as a fun project on their family farm has turned into a passion for making delicious chocolates using cacao grown right on their farm.


Their chocolates are special because they’re made with natural ingredients. They use cacao grown on their farm, alongside cacao sourced from Varanshi Organic Farms—one of the oldest organic cacao farms in India—and local farmers. Their chocolates are sweetened naturally with jaggery, dates, and coconut sugar, ensuring that there are no preservatives, artificial colors or flavors, vegetable fats, or emulsifiers.

Bala and his wife follow a farm-to-bar approach, meaning they take care of everything from growing the cacao to making the chocolates. The cacao beans are carefully picked at just the right time and transformed into small-batch chocolates. All chocolates are processed naturally without any chemical treatments, aligning with their vision of providing healthier dark chocolate alternatives for chocolate lovers.

The name “Anuttama” means “superior” or “the best of the best,” and it reflects the founders' commitment to quality and excellence in chocolate-making!
